Workshop Details
This ARC Academy intensive centres on the professional filming of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Place Fort La Tour during the July 2026 production run.
Led by filmmaker and director Tyler Warren Ellis, students gain hands-on experience capturing live theatre and turning it into a fully edited multi-camera film.
Overview
This course introduces the full workflow of live theatre filmmaking, from planning and on-set production to editing and post-production. Students learn how filmmaking principles apply directly to stage performance.
By the end, participants will be able to work on a professional live theatre film crew, plan, shoot, and edit a multi-camera production on a modest budget
Outcome
A completed full-length multi-camera film of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, created by students under professional guidance.
Who It’s For
Ages 16–19. Open to beginners and emerging creatives interested in film and video production, theatre and live performance, and technical and behind-the-scenes roles.
Format
Group size: 4–12 students
Mix of lectures, on-location filming, and editing workshops
Sessions: 2–3 hours (class) / 3–4 hours (filming)
