Stay tuned for details on exciting workshops offered as part of the 21-22 ARC ACADEMY season!
With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Atlantic Repertory Company had to rethink its engagement model for the 2020-2021 season. We wanted to continue to provide fruitful opportunities to young Canadian theatre professionals, but how could we do so in a safe way in the midst of a global pandemic?
It was during this time of uncertainty that ARC Academy was born. By offering online learning intensives via Zoom, taught by leading members of the Canadian theatre community, ARC has remained committed to our goals of education and employment. Last season four online intensives were offered giving twenty participants training and guidance in the areas of script analysis, discovering emotions and instincts in a story, tackling Shakespearean roles, and how to read between the lines of a script.
“ARC Academy provides incredible learning opportunities […] and I hope it can continue for years to come.” Deborah Castrilli - ARC Academy participant (Script Analysis for theatre directors w Richard Rose - Oct 2020)
“As a recent graduate, getting to participate in this workshop is an amazing learning experience which provides me a glimpse into the professional world …” Monet Comeau - ARC Academy participant (Listening for the Story with R.H. Thomson - Jan 2021)
