Befriending Shakespeare with a Canadian Stage Legend

This spring, the magic of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Place Fort La Tour begins behind the scenes! The cast is taking their performances to the next level in an intensive Shakespeare workshop led by Seana McKenna – one of Canada’s most celebrated stage actresses.

With a career spanning over 40 years and more than 60 productions at the Stratford Festival alone, Seana McKenna is widely regarded as one of Canada’s foremost Shakespearean performers. Her dynamic interpretations, vocal mastery, and deep understanding of classical theatre make her the perfect guide for actors exploring the world of Shakespeare.

Through this workshop, the cast will delve into the details of Shakespeare’s text, finding the clues necessary to lift his words from the page to the stage, with respect, pleasure and confidence, but without crippling reverence. This is the secret ingredient that will make this summer’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream truly unforgettable!
